Trump to make “massive” infrastructure announcement, White House says

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trump will make an infrastructure announcement on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

“It’s going to be a massive announcement and it’s going to prove that the world knows that America is back,” Leavitt said in an interview with “Fox & Friends.”

The announcement would be at 4 p.m. (2100 GMT), Leavitt said without providing additional detail.

The Republican president’s 2016 campaign promise for a $1 trillion infrastructure package during his first term from 2017-2021 never materialized.

His Democratic successor, Joe Biden, signed a $1 trillion infrastructure bill into law in 2021, in a bipartisan achievement that his administration said had launched 40,000 projects.
